Moore at the Rodin

For the first time in 30 years, Paris showcases the sculptural works of Henry Moore. Intended as a re-creation of Moore’s studio life, the exhibit setting is perfect—the beautiful Rodin Museum. Two enormous works grace the entry walkway to the Museum while inside, more than 150 sculptures, 50 drawings, sketchbooks and found objects (shells, bone, wood) reveal the contemplative nature of the artist’s work. The exhibition presents 50 years of Moore’s life as an artist and his passionate relationship with those found objects, which inspired his own creations.

Bordeaux Nouveau!

NOVART, a biennial festival of theater, music, and dance performances is about to celebrate its 8th year in the city of Bordeaux, from November 10 – 21. This year the theme is “Escapism,” both spoken and physical. Each of the 18 shows offer a variation on this concept and viewers will travel from one location to the next to enjoy this collage of words, sounds, and movement. All of the performances are either new French creations, or French premieres. Several venues host the performances, including the Opéra National of Bordeaux, the Glob Theatre, the Barbey Rock School, and an old shoe factory, Le TNT-Manufacture de Chaussures.
